Why I believe in this project:

Reclaiming our creative culture, Pushing the Arts, We are the Arts Pusher Project

The Arts Pusher Project gets its name from one of the hundreds of Art Beat features they were written by Hunter Ingalls for the Amarillo Globe News. His goal and dream was to “push” the Arts onto our community. Those arts included visual, dance, music, and just plain having fun. That is the heart of this project. We want to create an event that will rekindle that dream of a collaborative environment.

The event that we want to fund will do just that, it will pair his poems with various artists and mediums. These can be visual, performance or any creative process. This will just be the beginning of our movement to reclaim our voice.

These artists will help push the arts in our community and will become the start of something wonderful.
We want to reclaim that feeling of making something that has a meaning. To create a sustainable product that will stand the test of time and not fade away is the goal of this project. We want to reclaim our Lost Arts and make our community one that cherishes the Arts and use this project as a template to help others do the same.
Art is Things People Make.

Art is People Making Things.

The life of constant non-purpose driven consumerism must be broken.
We need to end our creative famine.
Art is our history, it makes us human, and it defines our humanity.
You need only to look at history and see that a society’s worth is linked with how that society treats its artists. And to define artists go back to the simple definition of:
Art is Things People Make.

Art is People Making Things.
